About this artwork
The sphere represents our dream, a desire that we would like to achieve and despite our efforts, there is always something or someone, represented by the steel rod that holds us back and tries to stop us from reaching it.

Welded sculpture in iron and stainless steel
The figure is made from small pieces of sheet metal welded together.
The sculpture was brushed to remove the solder patina and painted
with a transparent protective… to protect it from oxidation.

« In my sculptures, I always try to convey the feeling of movement and lightness. »
Federico Molinaro is an emerging Italian sculptor who has exhibited his work internationally. Despite using iron and steel as his chosen materials, his resulting works stand in contrast to their rigidity and heaviness, appearing light, free and dynamic. He constructs human figures captured in movement, playing with postures and proportions to communicate a narrative quality and achieve a unique aesthetic.
