About this artwork
The Golden Signs series arose from the need to set a sign of peace, love, and solidarity in a time marked by crises, divisions, and uncertainty.
The gold leaf represents the preciousness of human interaction, moments of closeness, and the hope for harmony. The deliberate cracks in the gold point to reality: peace can never be taken for granted; it is fragile and must be continually fought for. Behind the cracks, the colors of the peace flag shine,… a symbol that, despite all the disruption, hope and vitality remain.
"Golden Michel" combines this concept with one of the most famous motifs in art history. The moment of almost touching becomes a metaphor for our responsibility to maintain contact with one another and to build bridges.
Felix Endriss has always considered art a central part of his life. To realize his ideas according to his own vision and standards, he has acquired technical and practical knowledge in various art forms through comprehensive courses and self-study through extensive experimentation. His background in environmental sciences, in which he is currently pursuing a doctorate, inspires his artistic exploration of nature and sustainability, while also strengthening his ability to embrace new practices and approaches. As a researcher, he has developed a keen sense of experimentation and a willingness to try out new techniques—skills that significantly enrich his creative process, giving each series of works its own individual and fitting style. This interdisciplinary approach has enabled him to present his art in several national and international exhibitions.
