About this artwork
This work of art exists on a wood panel that once served as a storefront display. Like many of my paintings, it started in the realm of automatism. The initial strokes were not inspired by a premeditated vision, but rather pure emotion. After stepping back and "seeing" what was, the face began to reveal itself. The final product is a representation of how I felt at the time. "You never got me down Ray!"
