About this artwork
In this series of paintings there is a strong narrative of ephemerality of light dancing through the studio. The paintigns are trying to communicate something about the radiance of light and being in the light filled space of the studio. The main flower motif is the peony flower but also translucent and featherwieght hydrangeas that have been saved over from the heat filled summer on the studio shelves. The painting is a window into the intimacy…
and passion of the studio the muddy moods of paint and stollen moments of stillness and the intoxicating scent of the peony flower.
