« If I could never speak again I wouldn’t be lost, since painting is my second voice. »
Irish artist Fiona Si Hui draws on the range of human emotions to create soft, ethereal portraits. Her work is inspired by the concept of impermanence, and the fact that life is transient, evanescent, and inconsistent. Her painting technique, using oils as her preferred medium, shows a balance of observation and the desire to break away from technical refinement with chaotic elements. The result is a series of haunting pieces which explore the complexity of the human experience.
