About this artwork
At the heart of this work is a magnificent butterfly, its wings brimming with lush greenery, blooming flowers and thriving wildlife — a vivid symbol of pure, untouched nature. Surrounding it are rows of bright, colourful stylised houses; I chose these bold, lively tones to represent how we as people should be – full of life, open, vibrant and full of potential for good. Yet smoke rises gently from the homes, a subtle but clear reminder that our current… ways often create distance and harm to the natural world. This piece conveys a powerful message: harmony does not happen on its own. To live in true balance, we must actively work with nature, learn to coexist respectfully, and strive to become one with its rhythms and systems. It is a call to recognise our impact, adjust our behaviours, and build a future where our human communities and the natural world flourish side by side, as one connected whole.
