About this artwork
In the heart of the city, light sets the horizon ablaze.
Palm trees stand like elegant silhouettes, while the wet road reflects the fiery colors of the sky. The buildings in the distance seem to melt into this incandescent light, on the border between reality and dream.
In this work, I wanted to capture the beauty of a suspended moment: the one where the sun, before disappearing, transforms the city into a theater of light. The red, purple, and… gold reflections blend with the dark asphalt, giving the scene a cinematic intensity.
This painting explores the contrast between urbanity—cars, buildings, congested arteries—and the poetry of ephemeral reflections. It invites us to see the city differently: not as a fixed setting, but as a vibrant organism, traversed by light.
Florence Yangui is a French painter whose work explores the light and silences of urban life. Between night scenes, asphalt reflections and sensitive portraits, his works capture suspended moments, on the border between reality and poetry. Her painting, figurative and contemporary, plays with contrasts to reveal the hidden emotion of cities and faces. Primarily created in oil or acrylic, her approach is both intimate and open to the world, seeking to illuminate the dark areas of everyday life.
