About this artwork
It is Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, a Hungarian psychologist, who finalized the concept of "The zone" according to which being in a state of total concentration or complete absorption in an activity is the key to happiness: according to him, it is a experience that characterizes high performance sport. This state in which an athlete or an artist is fully engaged in the activity is such a unique and intense moment that, by reaching it for the first time,…
"The zone" becomes a pure source of intrinsic motivation. In "The Zone", the feelings are not only contained but also positive, stimulated and aligned with the task performed. It is a feeling of spontaneous pleasure, felt while performing a task although it is also described as a deep feeling that focuses only on activity and not on feelings.
