Reste #2 extends the series started with Reste #1, by molding a burger — a universal symbol of consumer culture — in a durable material: aluminum.
By freezing a food item as banal as it is ephemeral, the artist questions our relationship with food, memory, and the society of the instant. This act of artificial preservation transforms the burger… into a contemporary artifact, a testament to our globalized habits and their potential absurdity. Like a modern fossil, Reste #2 confronts us with the irony of a meal that has been eternalized but is definitively unfit for consumption, crystallizing a subtle critique of overconsumption and the loss of meaning.

Florent Poussineau, born in 1989, graduated from ESACM and trained in design and culinary arts, is a multidisciplinary visual artist. His works blend installation, performance, and culinary creation by exploring performative acts, archives, and installations. Poussineau explores individual and collective memory through food, proposing an aesthetic of disappearance and transformation. His practice nostalgically evokes human evolution, questioning our relationship to others, to memory, and to the norm, while arousing contradictory emotions.
