Florentine Kunze-Wolff works as a painter, draftswoman, and sculptor, with extensive training in Paris and Munich, and devotes herself primarily to the depiction of animals. She combines naturalistic-realistic painting, Old Master techniques, and Impressionist influences, using acrylic on transparently primed canvas and preparatory oil pastel sketches. In her large-format animal portraits, she allows animals to appear monumental and touching without a distracting background. Her works radiate an immediate presence and emotional depth—they celebrate the individuality, dignity, and beauty of each individual animal.
