About this artwork
The Impressionists have always made a strong impression on me, especially at the beginning of my career as a painter. The fact that these artists painted these magnificent and authentic pictures directly from nature has always inspired me to follow in their footsteps and emulate them. It is incomparably more difficult than copying from a photograph or creating from the imagination. I learned this from my countless attempts at working in nature with…
an easel, oil paint, and a canvas.
I painted the above painting in nature, in front of the subject, on a trip through Spain. Capo de Gata is located in the far south of Spain. It's a small nature reserve. At its center is this soft, graceful mountain. It stimulated my senses and inspired me to paint.
The picture is framed in an old, antique frame. It is in good condition considering its age.

Florian Teichmann works as a painter and sculptor and holds a diploma from Alanus University. His works emerge from an advanced surrealist method, in which he combines mythological, political, or social motifs through free composition, diverse forms of expression, and a spirit of experimentation. Through the conscious use of representational and abstract forms, he creates powerful, exciting works that convey emotionality and a deep, often uncomfortable world of thought.
