Portrait — The energy of the gesture and the intensity of the colors
This work reveals a powerful portrait, where the realism of the face meets the spontaneity of contemporary painting. Against a light grey background, the contrasts of black and white sculpt the features, while bursts of electric blue, flamboyant red, yellow and orange disrupt the composition.
Splashes, splatters, and brushstrokes infuse the portrait with raw energy. The colors… seem to flow through the face, emphasizing its expression and giving the material an almost living dimension. The gesture is free, instinctive, sometimes explosive, yet maintains great precision in the construction of the features.
The interplay between monochrome areas and vibrant colors creates a balance between strength and sensitivity, control and spontaneity. The clean background highlights this chromatic explosion and accentuates the subject's presence.
