About this artwork
"Dance with the waves" is a new painting in the abstract series and impresses with its calm yet dynamic image statement. In the foreground we see waves in different shades of blue moving, the water seems warm and inviting to bathe in. Already the title suggests that we can dance in these blue-green waves. The dynamic brushwork with which the artist has laid out the ocean merges into a bright, radiant sky that stretches far across the water to the… horizon. This area of color was created by the painter in calm, gentle movements in a neutral color palette that creates a contrast to the dynamics in the foreground of the picture. Delicate gold accents shimmer like warming rays of sunshine on this horizon, blue lines gently indicate the sky and create a space for dreaming and relaxing. The artist was inspired by her deep love for the sea, in which she learned to swim as a little girl.
« There is something special about beautiful art, it makes our hearts so light and bold. »
Françoise Wattré paints intuitively. The artist, who is based in Germany, also conveys moods and symbols, as pertaining to emotions. Wattré describes her art as honoring the beauty of life and wants to remind viewers of how precious it is. Although her compositions feature a varied color palette, the image of the flowers is almost always present. Her distinctive pieces are created using acrylics and pigments on canvas or linen.
