Küsten der Erde Ebbe und Flut unterschiedlich stark wirken, wie auch in den Menschen, die verschiedenen Gefühle unterschiedlich stark sind. Beim Betrachten dieses Gemäldes spüren wir die Weite eines Meeres, das zurückgewichen scheint. Ein wenig Wasser ist noch auf dem Meeresboden sichtbar und wir erahnen die Kräfte der Gravitation, die hier am Werk sind.
