About this artwork
The painting “From Above” is named for the view from above of the ocean, which the artist loves so much. When she sat in an airplane for the first time, she couldn't put into words the fascination of flying over the ocean. The different shades of blue of the water and the waves, which seem even more intense through the rays of the sun, how the spray is recognizable despite the height and how beautiful small islands like the Bahamas look from above,… provided the inspiration for this painting. As always, Françoise Wattré's works of art are about the feeling that she wants to make artistically tangible in her pictures. In “From above” it is the feeling of space and joy to look at the beautiful ocean as if for the first time, which it is more important to protect today than ever. A beautiful painting that reminds us of how beautiful and unique our "Blue Planet" is.
« There is something special about beautiful art, it makes our hearts so light and bold. »
Françoise Wattré paints intuitively. The artist, who is based in Germany, also conveys moods and symbols, as pertaining to emotions. Wattré describes her art as honoring the beauty of life and wants to remind viewers of how precious it is. Although her compositions feature a varied color palette, the image of the flowers is almost always present. Her distinctive pieces are created using acrylics and pigments on canvas or linen.
