Frances Hatch is a British Landscape painter, based in West Dorset. She was raised in the East Anglian Fens - with its abundance of black soil, wide skies and biting east winds. The landscape of her childhood prompted her to try to communicate her response through painting on the spot - whilst in the presence of something happening. It might be an event like a fleeting effect of light bouncing off water. To this day, her connection with plein air landscape experience remains paramount.
