About this artwork
In this work I fused oil, collage, watercolor and pencil to explore the human figure with an expressionist spirit. There is a raw emotionality that transpires from the features and colors I have chosen, reflecting the complexity of the human soul. This art brings energy and reflection, a silent but eloquent dialogue for the observer, encouraging us to look beyond the surface.

Francesca Candito is a young Italian painter whose work has featured in prizes and exhibitions across the country. Her artistic exploration is centered on social themes, and she seeks to investigate human subjects by depicting faces and bodies with sharp brush strokes and impactful color combinations. Her characters present penetrating—even menacing—glances, their surroundings stripped back to nothing but darkness, and the viewer is left to contemplate and complete the stories their faces tell.
