About this artwork
Ecstasy is a small woman bronze bust with elaborate hair.
Francesca explored this kind of aesthetics first in her sculpture Yakun, loving the movement a lot and the golden touches, she decided to make 2 versions of a small bust: Waves and Ecstasy. Both are hand-made: Francesca works directly the wax and the results are unique pieces with the lost wax bronze technique.
This piece has a black and green patina, with golden touches. The black patina… is made from the green one, after a burning process, so magical and mystical.
The sculpture dimensions include the pedestal size.

« The stories of each character, isolated in an intimate and personal dimension, are reflections on human values, perceptions and emotions. »
Francesca Dalla Benetta is an Italian sculptor based in Mexico. After 10 years working as a makeup artist in the film industry, Dalla Benetta is now a dedicated full-time artist. Her work is characterized by anatomies and mixed forms. Faces and human bodies are combined with different textures, skins and elements, giving rise to hybrid and fantastic beings. Through unusual, strange and surreal bodies, her pieces focus on the problems of transformation, identity, the sense of belonging, self-perception and dreams.
