About this artwork
This is my love letter to some of my favourite places on earth - the Greek Islands. I first visited there in the '70s, travelling from island to island on small fishing boats, and have such happy memories of the people, the food, the pace of life and, of course, the sunshine. I used variegated leaf to create the sunburst effect. Variegated leaf is created by heating the metal leaf. The results are mesmerising.
