About this artwork
In Teal and Earth, the plant form becomes a silent presence rather than a descriptive subject.
The cabbage is observed closely, in slow motion, until its rhythm, transparencies and layers of colour emerge.
The watercolor technique allows light and pigment to interact freely, generating a sensation of breath and internal movement.
The result is not a botanical study, but a space of quiet and listening, in which nature becomes a link between the… visible and a more intimate and contemplative dimension.
The work continues the artist's research on color as a living element and on nature understood not as representation, but as a place of meditation.
Francesca Licchelli is a painter with a solid classical education, enriched by years of apprenticeship in drawing, oil painting, fresco, mosaic, and stained glass. Her works oscillate between figuration and abstraction: this balance emerges through a structural and expressive use of color, close-up compositions, and essential forms achieved through oil, watercolor, and pastel. Her canvases exude an intense serenity: she strives to convey silence, intensity, and a profound connection with the spiritual dimension of nature.
