About this artwork
EIKON in Greek means "image" and from it derives the term "Icon".
It is a universal image, strongly symbolic, which recalls the Byzantine tradition in the great profusion of gold, but also the Far Eastern one with the central symbol that evokes the Tao.
The painting is obtained with a red Chinese lacquer, on a golden background made with metallic foil.
The work was exhibited at the personal exhibition 'Living in HARMONY' at the minimalARCH architecture… studio in 2017 in Rome, curated and reviewed by Simonetta Milazzo.

« My work represents a suspended space where the visible world communicates with the invisible one. My research is a permanent tribute to the metaphysical value of light. »
Francesca Romana Mainieri is an Italian painter, sculptor, and restorer who has exhibited her pieces nationally, as well as in the United States, Czechia, Spain, Switzerland and Denmark. Her artistic expression was born from a search for inner harmony and represents a personal meditation on the beauty of impermanence. By reworking the archetypes of the Western artistic tradition, based on balance and formal rigor, Mainieri creates contemporary non-figurative works supported by her minimalist vision.
