About this artwork
The extreme power of an ecstatic state can produce states of profound change in a man's psyche and thus affect his reality, which he will then be able to recreate and transform according to his new feeling.
In this painting with a notable visionary charge, intense and defined unconscious forces are represented that almost seem to want to emerge from the canvas to extend directly into the surrounding reality.
It was worked with strong and clear… oil colors, softened by the sensitivity of the shades; the final image appears as if it has just emerged from a dream.
Ecstatica is a unique piece - like all the paintings by the author - and was awarded during the XXVI edition of the Medusa Aurea Trophy in Rome.

« Everything we want is at the bottom of our consciousness, waiting to be awakened, and art is the voice that calls everything back. »
Francesco Dea is an Italian artist whose work is driven by a desire to communicate and discover the correspondence between that which is inside and that which is outside of ourselves. Dea uses a mixture of oils for their depth and acrylics for the immediacy with which they allow him to develop pictorial representation. For Dea, painting has been a means to rediscover his inner self, and to depict that which cannot be seen, but only felt inside oneself.
