About this artwork
Yggdrasil is the central world tree of Norse mythology. I painted this tree after extensively researching its history and spending a great deal of time under our oak tree. This canvas is therefore a very personal interpretation. The dark trunk and branches create a sharp break that contrasts with the sky and foliage. The latter is depicted in very warm hues ranging from pale yellow to gold and bronze.
This painting is soothing and beyond what it… is supposed to represent, it offers those who look at it attentively "hidden" elements that invite escape and reverie.

Franck Kottewicz, a self-taught artist with a passion for drawing and painting, also trained in graphic design. He favors acrylic on canvas, experimenting with epoxy resin to reveal brilliance and depth; his style subtly oscillates between figurative and abstract, inspired by seascapes. Each work reflects his personal emotions and a poetic connection to nature, inviting the viewer on a vibrant inner journey.
