About this artwork
In this work, I seek to capture the raw, emotional essence of humanity through simple lines and exaggerated shapes, typical of expressionism and primitivism. Using oil pastels, each stroke on the paper is a reflection of our intense and often tumultuous emotions. The interconnected silhouettes symbolize our interdependence, emphasizing that despite our apparent differences, we are all connected by our shared experiences. This piece adds emotional…
depth and a vibrant color palette to any space, inviting personal reflection.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Francoise Maurel is a versatile painter with a background in fine arts and a distinct lack of perspective in her work. Her work showcases raw and primitive techniques invigorated with non-concrete imagery and symbols. Work is Maurel's intimate diary where she spontaneously paints emotions, creating a tangible magic in the visible. This magic translates into invisible emotions, inducing a trance-like conscious state in her viewers.
