About this artwork
Especially with dark oil painting, the effect depends extremely on the lighting. In reality, the picture initially appears a bit dark and quite reserved. I would describe this work as introverted. It only really opens up at second glance, so to speak.
But then there are fireworks that make your heart beat faster. In this picture a very special ember of dark green and dark red burns. This ember has not only warmth but also strange and pleasant softness.… This energy carries the work like a grand minor chord. Out of this, the events sparkle like precious stones in aquamarine or turquoise, but also in all sorts of red and orange nuances.

Frank Pieperhoff is an experienced painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the Netherlands, Poland, and North Macedonia. The founder of the KUNSTGUT Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, his diverse works are divide into two distinctive themes: human existence and color. In his artistic process, Pieperhoff fuses modern and classic techniques with oils and acrylics on canvas or fabric.
