The German painter Franz Baumgartner, born in 1962, is well-known for his paintings, which seem to stop time. He graduated in 1981-1983 studying art at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne under Prof. Marx, and from 1989-1993 at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Prof. Krieg. Today Franz Baumgartner lives in Cologne where he works as a freelance artist.
