Portrait of the guitar Hendrix used in Monterey in 1967. After the concert, he set his guitar on fire and smashed it to pieces.
Ravi Shankar remains terribly shocked by this guitar burning, especially by the lack of respect for a musical instrument; he subsequently believes that drugs are harmful to many young people.
