About this artwork
Acetate with acrylic paint on wood.
Acetate and acrylic paint on wood. This piece is one more step in my search to have a style that distinguishes me within kineticism and above all from Venezuelan cynicism. Having been born in a country where we are so exposed to this artistic current and having a strong influence from the great masters of kinetic art, it is inevitable for me to yearn for my own creative discourse. I want to express myself within… this trend with materials from the workshop, but taking them to a new dimension. While it is true that most of my predecessors, like my contemporaries, use industrial methods and cutting-edge technologies, obtaining almost perfect and neat results. On the contrary, I want to dirty my hands with paint, I want the brush to leave its trace and that the texture of the material is appreciated, that it is irregular and that when detailing the piece the imperfections are seen.

« I want my work to speak for me and to express how strong and vibrant I am. Always in search of internal harmony, I want that to transcend the visual. »
Freddy Salvador is a Venezuelan artist based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally. His art is inspired by the colors of the flora and fauna of his native country, as well as kineticism, geometry and op art. Salvador digital and painterly abstractions are also imbued with symbolism through the arrangement of lines, which are always represented in an ascending direction. He paints using acrylics, vinyl and collage on Plexiglas, wood, or glass.
