In this fine art piece, I photographed the silhouette of a little egret using minimal grazing light. This makes the lines and feathers stand out to the maximum and creates maximum contrast with the background.
Observe the feather structures and the protruding crest feathers. The most intense interplay between light and shadow.
The artwork is printed on Hahnmühle Fine Art Baryta paper to ensure maximum dimension and depth.

I photograph animals as beings of light. Fog, backlighting, and sidelight transform birds into reduced, silent figures. My work is created in moments when nature loses its contours and transforms into a poetic, atmospheric world of images.
I am not seeking documentary depiction, but rather fleeting presence – those seconds in which light, space, and animal merge into a silent, almost abstract form. My photographs are observations of stillness, distance, and closeness all at once.
As a NABU member, raising awareness about bird and animal species is important to me; I advocate for a more respectful and sensitive perception of our nature.
I have already written five articles for the international journal Wildlife Photographic Mag, and more are planned.
