About this artwork
In this work, I have captured the tranquil power of a forest – the clear structure of the tree trunks contrasts with the vibrant, green leaves. Using acrylic paints, I wanted to make visible the atmosphere of a still morning, where light and shadow play together. This painting brings pure nature and serenity into any room and invites the viewer to experience a moment of peace. The painting was created as part of the "Forest Bathing" series. This… series produced forest paintings that do not merely depict nature, but rather take viewers beyond the level of simple seeing – into a mode of inner reflection, presence, and expansiveness. Alluding to "Shinrin Yoku," the Japanese practice of forest bathing, the interplay of light and leaf textures act as anchors of memory.
Fritz Vogel is an Austrian painter and draftsman who works primarily with acrylics, pencil, and ink. His work is inspired by collaborations with other renowned artists, a deeply humane philosophy of life, and a technical and economic education. "A key concern in my art is to preserve, despite a recognizable style, the freedom of stylistic devices, painting techniques, and motifs, in the tradition of diversity held by artists like Picasso or Gerhard Richter. I reject pigeonholing and a primitive recognition factor in the form of self-copying. Those who engage with my paintings should first resonate with the work and only then realize that they are (once again) looking at a bird."
