About this artwork
Description: The original image is a photo of dictator Kim Jong-un. It can seem such as disturbing or even disturbing, revolting or outdated for a Westerner. The great helmsman smiles brilliantly, surrounded by his many admirers. Everyone applauds in a movement of general jubilation. The cult of appearance under the guise of exactions, violence and arbitrariness: a fool's game.
Genesis: At the beginning, the reproduction of a photo with the intention… of diverting it without a specific purpose. Then the meeting with manga characters with big happy eyes. The scene of jubilation is diverted to appear in a westernized world. Is the dictator visiting a free country for a show of which he has the secret? Has the West finally become a tyranny? There is no real intention to create a beautiful image: the numerous characters are not very detailed. They are just ants and do not deserve, as they are, a big deal of treatment.
