About this artwork
In my work, I fused acrylic, oil and gilding to create a dialogue between realism and semi-abstraction. Figurative images emerge from visceral textures, telling stories of fragile balances that live between hope and memory. Each brushstroke is an emotional search, a cry and a whisper of the soul that invites the viewer to find their own story in the nuances and shapes. Fulvio Dot is an experienced painter and draftsman based in Italy whose work has been exhibited nationally, as well as in China, France, Canada and Spain. He describes his compositions as historical places “contaminated” with contemporary symbols and content.
