About this artwork
I painted a stack of fish, laid out on a market table. Their grey bodies contrast with the turquoise stripes that catch the eye, while their blank stares give the scene a slightly somber feel. My brushwork is loose yet realistic, keeping the painting dynamic. I also let the bright pink background show through in places, adding depth and a bit of unexpected energy.
