Lazy Summer Night captures that fragile threshold between stillness and dreaming—the golden hush of an evening that asks for nothing, promises nothing, yet quietly fills the soul with a sense of fullness. The woman, stretched out on a lemon-yellow sofa like a half-forgotten memory, seems caught between presence and reverie. Her relaxed posture echoes the softness of the light as it gently pours through the windows.
Around her, the world seems to… take a deep breath. A cat perches on the armrest, attentive and elegant, while a white dog sleeps peacefully at her feet, embodying the perfect calm of an unhurried moment. Outside, the foliage stirs in blurred waves, dissolving the boundary between inside and out, between self and season.
Though part of the Melancholia project, this work offers a gentler kind of melancholy—one that glows rather than weighs. It is not sadness, but serenity shaded with memory: a summer night that lingers, long after the light has faded.
