In this painting, I talk about the love of a transgender person.
For me, modern masculinity has been learning from female empowerment the idea of equality. This has been improving little by little, but there is still a long way to go.
I believe that we must always be open to breaking backward concepts. And that doesn't mean I'll be any less masculine than before.
In Brazil, in the big cities. I see that… younger people have already sought and accepted this new masculinity better. But the fact that the country is very large and of great poverty, with little education in some regions, this understanding of this subject is still seen with a lot of prejudice. Among the older ones I still see a lot of sexist discourse that is supported by political leaders. President Bolsonaro says absurd things about women and a lot of people applaud. But even so I believe that

Gabriel Grecco is an experienced prizewinning artist with international exposure. His work explores and questions the behavior of contemporary man and what he sees as an ongoing psychological crises amid the excess of information and technologies. Gecco's work is reminiscent of pop-art though features a stark political critique more akin to street art.
