About this artwork

A very fine white line in this picture separates sky and water: a sheet of ice. On closer inspection, small cracks can be seen there.
The insight that we spend our lives as if on a thin sheet of ice often only comes when we perceive a slight crack.

« My art consists of thought concepts. These are freed from the object until I express them, precisely organized and composed using lines, surfaces, and colors, specifically on canvas. »

Gabriele Fuchs is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Austria, Brazil, and Portugal. Inspired by the contemplation of nature and spirituality, her works are the result of deep reflection on a specific subject. Fuchs uses mathematical and calculated precision in her artistic process, based on Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Ratio, as well as Johannes Itten's color theory.
