About this artwork
In my work I use acrylic, oil, collage and Indian ink on paper to create an abstract composition that combines earth tones and vibrant textures. These powerful horizontal lines transport the viewer into a world of calm and contemplation, while at the same time a dynamic energy flows into their space.

Gabriele Middelmann, an award-winning painter and photographer, has exhibited her works in her native Germany, as well as in Belgium, the United States, Austria, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. The themes in her pieces delve into concepts of time, space, surface, depth and the traces we leave behind. Photography is the genesis for Middelmann’s painterly art, which she transforms into paintings through diverse materials such as paper, stone, powder, pigments and acrylics.
