In my work I have experimented with a passionate mix of acrylic, oil and collage techniques, complemented by the intensity of Indian ink, lacquer and earthy pigments. Gabriele Middelmann, an award-winning painter and photographer, has exhibited her works in her native Germany, as well as in Belgium, the United States, Austria, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. The themes in her pieces delve into concepts of time, space, surface, depth and the traces we leave behind. Photography is the genesis for Middelmann’s painterly art, which she transforms into paintings through diverse materials such as paper, stone, powder, pigments and acrylics.
