About this artwork
I have painted a contemporary floral still life here, which stands in a centuries-old tradition, but interprets it in a modern way. It celebrates the vital aesthetics and opulence of nature at the moment of its greatest bloom.
Peonies have been cultivated for centuries as medicinal and ornamental plants, symbolizing prosperity, love, beauty, and, in Asia, the gentleness of Buddha. Irises represent creativity, fidelity, and a good message.
With… my design, I wanted to immortalize spring, send a positive message, and please the eye.
