About this artwork
This painting was created during a summer plein air session, when I observed how light and air filled the vastness of the steppe. I wanted to capture the movement of the sky and the silence of the earth, bringing them together in a single breath. I worked with oil on canvas to convey the depth of color and create a sense of living presence — as if the landscape breathes with you.
What matters to me is not only the subject but also the tactile quality… of the surface: the brushstrokes form a texture that comes alive under different light. This artwork is part of my series within the artistic challenge ‘60 Paintings Before the End of the Year,’ where I explore nature through the language of contemporary painting.
I see this piece as an invitation for the viewer to slow down and reconnect with the natural world that often slips away in everyday life. It is an original artwork, created as a one-of-a-kind painting, suitable for a collection that values depth and the poetry of landscape
