About this artwork
In my artwork, I've merged the raw emotion of expressionism with the dreamy quality of impressionism. Using acrylics, oils, and oil pastels, along with found objects, I've constructed a vividly abstract celebration of unity and love. The textured forms and whimsical strokes evoke the joyous intricacies of togetherness, gifting your space with the enduring warmth of companionship.

« Through my abstract paintings, I engage in a dialogue with the world using this vocabulary of symbolism. »
Gary Low is a Malaysian-Chinese painter based in New York who has had several solo exhibitions in the U.S. His abstract imagery, as well as the use of vivid florals, are inspired by the Japanese tradition of Hanakotoba, the intricate language of flowers. Influenced by spending his childhood in an orchid nursery, Low favors this symbolism in his paintings. The result is a multi-textured landscape of vibrant pigments and striking images, composed of materials such as dried flowers, lace, and sugar.
