Gavin Sewell is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Canada whose works have been exhibited in the United States. He describes his intricate and multilayered collages as celebrating the "complexity and nuance of a world teeming with meaning, signs, and symbols". In his artistic practice, Sewell joins the realm between narration and hypnotic suggestion, implying half-seen stories of the absurd, the paradoxical, and the hopeful.
