About this artwork
I love the sun and bright sky. On cloudy days I feel sad... But it’s all the more surprising that sometimes it’s on silver, cloudy days that nature shows us its special intimate beauty. I painted this picture in the fall among the vineyards of Valpolicella... before that, the sun was shining fiercely for several days and I painted several bright, beautiful colorful works. And that morning it was cloudy and I was wandering around looking for a subject…
for a sketch... Suddenly I saw this path. The sun was about to emerge from behind the clouds: they were all already covered in golden cracks. And in one breath, in order to have time to capture this state, I painted this picture and it became one of my favorites. Not the sun, not the blue sky, but this magical silver.
