About this artwork
As a boy growing up in Australia, I used to kick my football around the backyard religiously, dreaming of one day playing Australian rules Football professionally. When I was travelling in Europe, I constantly saw kids doing the same thing wherever they could - in this case it was late evening in the cobbled streets of Burano in Italy. A boy and his dog dreaming of bigger things...
The back ground was created using impasto paint and a palette knife,… which was then overlaid with aerosol spray paint through several layers of hand cut stencils to create the final image.
