About this artwork
During the pandemic many found themselves trapped in their own homes on lock down with minimal freedom. In parts of China specifically people where locked into their homes for months. The artist conveys the haunting desperation of being locked up with the sepents in your mind with no escape. In her case paradoxically, she found comfort and tamed the beasts that threatened to choke her.

« Impressionism is the deliberately imperfect translation of a perfect moment. It is often where radiating light and sullen darkness collide. It is as beautiful as it is inevitable. Experience it! »
Georgia Argyropoulos is an experienced South African painter who has exhibited her work in Italy, Austria, Monaco, the UK and US. Her art predominately presents a message of emancipation: themes such as light and dark, life and death, and lost and found appear on her canvases in luminous, colorful clarity. She navigates traditional techniques and works within a primarily impressionistic style to bring her unspoken feelings to visual life. Argyropoulos ultimately hopes for her paintings to evoke warmth in those who view them, sharing in the joyful emotion and spirited energy she feels when creating.
