About this artwork
It was several years between the time I first conceived this poignant subject and the time I felt that I had the painting skills to fulfil it. The church and graveyard that provides the setting is Holy Trinity Church, Galmpton, South Devon, England. The children are my own, but I hasten to add that their mother is still alive, and both of them are now in their 50's.
