About this artwork
In this large 58 "x 98" canvas, The Last Sitting, Labarca was inspired by an image from the last photoshoot featuring Marilyn Monroe, by photographer Bert Stern for Vogue magazine. Labarca used a pastel tone palette creating a raised surface with orange tones to create a painting that will be one of the biggest talking points in the contemporary art world for generations to come.
