The creative examination of basic geometric forms can be described as the conceptual main feature of Gerd Lind's artistic work. Varied internal structures, sophisticated reflections or color changes are occasionally irritating, but his precise visual analysis always leads back to clearly definable forms such as triangles, trapezoids, rectangles or… squares. Occasionally, these forms elude a clear definition only because they reach beyond the picture's edge and are completed in the space beyond the picture field by the viewer's imagination.

German artist Gerdlind was born in Mannheim in 1942. He studied at the Free Academy in Mannheim with Paul Berger-Bergner (1957-1962) and the Summer Academy in Salzburg with Oskar Kokoschka (1960). . He lives and works in Mannheim, Germany.
