About this artwork

In this oil painting, I sought to explore the themes of innocence and contemplation, captured through the solemn expressions of young girls dressed in white, symbolizing purity. The central figure, highlighted with a gentle focus, is immersed in prayer, contrasting with the more ambiguous, reflective stances of her companions. The title is also ambiguous and suggests that what we see may not be what there is. It may also refer to the loss of innocence… from childhood.
This piece invites a serene energy into any space, evoking introspection and a sense of peacefulness amidst the complexities of childhood and spirituality.
