Gerdine Duijsens is a Dutch artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, France, Italy, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Germany, and China. Her distinctive compositions fuse the figurative with the abstract, reflecting modern consumerism culture, the desire to achieve status and overindulgence. However, Duijsens' characters are also vulnerable and insecure, when unobserved, they briefly escape from a world in which they are held prisoner by status and protocols.
